ArmInfo. The main issue of our foreign policy and, in general, politics is the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, in the direction of resolving which, unfortunately, there is no progress.
APA reports that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated this on the national mirth on the occasion of Novruz.
At the same time, the Azerbaijani leader again shifted the blame for the lack of progress in the settlement to Armenia. "Armenia does not want peace, wants to maintain the status quo, does not want to leave the occupied lands. Therefore, we and the international community, the mediators must force them to liberate the occupied lands. There is no other way. Because Armenia is trying to boycott the talks, putting itself in an isolated position. The mediators, the co-chairing countries of the OSCE Minsk Group have openly stated that substantive, that is, meaningful negotiations should be restored soon. Therefore, I believe that the earlier Armenia realizes that it will not be able to preserve Azerbaijani lands under the occupation, the better it will be for them. We will not accept this situation. We increase our power. We are strengthening our military and political strength, our international position", Aliyev said. Aliyev assured that Azerbaijan has become an important country not only for the region, but for the whole world, while Armenia lost all hope, fell into depression. "The reason for this is the criminal junta, which illegally seized power in Armenia. The most important threat for the Armenian people is the current leadership of the country. We will continue to make efforts. I have repeatedly stated, I want to emphasize once again, the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan has never been and will not be a matter of discussion. Nagorno-Karabakh is a native land of Azerbaijan. We must restore our territorial integrity. The situation in the region works for us. The economic, military potential of our country, of course, is greater. The April events of last year confirmed this once again. Therefore, we must become stronger, what we are doing", the Azerbaijani leader said.
