ArmInfo. Prosecutor General of Armenia Artur Davtyan instructed the police to find out the reliability of information regarding the beating of the candidate for  deputy from the "Prosperous Armenia" Party Vahan Karapetyan.

As the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office told ArmInfo,  the police is preparing materials relating this incident.

To note, on the eve, at late night, supporters of the candidate for  deputy from the Republican Party, head of the Department for State  Property Management and son of the Speaker of the Parliament Galust  Sahakyan Arman Sahakyan tried to settle scores with the candidate for  deputy from the Tsarukyan bloc, the owner of the Cherry restaurant,  Vahan Karapetyan.

In the statement of the Tsarukyan bloc, in particular, it read:  "Apparently, Arman Sahakyan, realizing that neither the  administrative resources nor the finances that he bribes the  residents of Ajapnyak are able to provide him with victory in  elections, decided to settle scores with Competitors, resorting to  methods of fights, involving in this process the local criminals".  Bloc Tsarukyan also stresses that he will not succumb to  provocations. "But after April 2 comes April 3, and all the guilty  will be held responsible. Such repressive methods are not able to  break the spirit of the Tsarukyan bloc and its candidates, who are  determined to win elections", the statement reads.

Arman Sahakyan assured that the fight took place on domestic grounds,  and it is not worth looking for any subtexts in the incident.  Sahakyan also said that Karapetyan provoked the incident. -
