ArmInfo. 2700 persons joined the Citizen Observer initiative to implement the appropriate mission, 250 from which are Armenians and 150 are Georgians, Armen Grigoryan, the member to initiative stated at the press conference in Yerevan.
He noted, that a participation of 3500 observers at 1750 electoral sites is expected. " We have more than 2 thousand of erlectoral sites in Armenia, and we will implement control in majority of those," Grigoryan stated. The activist stated also, that future observers face troubles due to an unclear situation related to the elections day. " We cannot deal properly with training issues, and observers from diaspora don't know how to buy the flights tickets, because the elections day could be shifted," he mentioned that such problems are the result of unserious approach of authorities to the elections.
In his turn, Vahe Keushgueryan, the representative of ImpactHub Yerevan ensured, that it is not important for the initiative, which political power will win the elections, because the priority is to held serious and fair electoral procedures.
Vardan Marashlyan, the RepatArmenia Foundation representative mentioned that the participation of diaspora representatives in the elections is a new culture. "On February 28 we will conduct a forum in Moscow, to familiarize Armenians of Russia with the initiative, and to include those who will express a will to participate," he mentioned.
What is to authorities, they invited four international organizations to implement the monitoring mission - Council of Europe, ECPA, OSCE and CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. Elections are planed to be implemented on April 2, but it is not ruled out that this date will change.
