ArmInfo. The Russian, Armenian and Azeri FMs are not going to meet in the near future, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said, when asked about a possible Lavrov-Nalbandian-Mammadyarov meeting in the near future.
"I hold no information about a possible meeting of the Russian, Azeri and Armenian foreign ministers in the near future. As soon as I get such information, I will share it with you," the diplomat said.
As regards the Feb 20 constitutional referendum in Karabakh, Zakharova said that the Karabakh problem will shortly be discussed during Russian FM Sergey Lavrov's meeting with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian. "I can say that meetings will be held with Azeri colleagues in the mid-term outlook. Certainly, the Karabakh topic will also be discussed at the meetings," she noted.
To note, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian will pay an official visit to Moscow on Feb 21-22 on the invitation of his Russian counterpart. The visit will be the continuation of the Russian-Armenian dialogue aimed at further development of the allied interaction in political, trade, economic and humanitarian fields. "The talks will cover the topical issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as foreign political issues, including the Karabakh conflict settlement. Special attention will be paid to partnership within common integration unions and other international organizations," Zakharova said.
