ArmInfo. The parliamentary election in Armenia will experience an interesting competition, Deputy Chairman of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia Armen Ashotyan said, when commenting on the intention of Gagik Tsarukyan and Prosperous Armenia Party to run in the election.
Ashotyan stressed that Tsarukyan's statement can be useful for the political competition no matter whether the RPA shares his remarks of whether the Prosperous Armenia Party shares the RPA's views or not.
He added that the constitutional reforms have created favorable conditions to make the political system of Armenia more transparent and flexible. "Now the political system will be reformed and improved first of all due to the competition of political teams," he said, adding that each political team has the right to show its worth at the election and one can only welcome it.
To note, Tsarukyan left politics after a conflict with President Serzh Sargsyan, when he decided to join the radical opposition. Earlier ArmInfo's sources close to the presidential administration reported that Tsarukyan reached an agreement with President Serzh Sargsyan regarding his return to mainstream politics and consolidation with the ruling Republican Party of Armenia after the parliamentary elections of 2017.
