ArmInfo. The Court of Appeal has left the general jurisdiction court's decision on choosing arrest as a measure of restraint against Araik Khandoyan, member of the Sasna Tsrer (Daredevils of Sassoon) group that seized a police compound in Yerevan.
It is noteworthy that the decision was taken in the absence of Khandoyan and his lawyer, because the defendant had left the hall by the judge's decision and his lawyer boycotted the hearing. The judge took the decision to expel Khandoyan from the hall after the latter said that all his actions were aimed at ensuring a bright future for both his own children and the judge's children.
The defense is going to dispute the decision of the Court of Appeal at the Court of Cassation. The defense will also prepare a relevant claim on the judge's behavior.
For its part, the general jurisdiction court of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun administrative districts rejected the motion of Garo Yegnukian's lawyer Tigran Hayrapetyan to release Yegnukian on bail (1 million AMD). Yegnukian has started a timeless hunger strike. To note, Khandoyan is charged with seizure of buildings and vehicles, as well as illegal acquisition, keeping and use of arms and ammunition. Yegnukian is charged with aiding the actions of Sasna Tsrer group.
